An accomplished clinician with more than 25 of years of experience, I am a strong client advocate with the counseling skills and sensitivity to help others move forward in their personal and professional lives. Since 2007, I have been in private practice in Franklin, Tennessee. Prior to that, I used my clinical skills in educational, healthcare and corporate settings. Throughout my career, I have provided direct counseling to adults, adolescents and children.
I am a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and hold Master's and Educational Specialist degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I worked with children and adolescents as a school
psychologist before shifting to a hospital setting to develop and operate comprehensive behavioral health services for adolescents that include inpatient, residential, and day treatment programs. Here, I also supervised clinicians and managed
an outpatient counseling center. For almost a decade afterward, I managed the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for a national corporation with more than 75,000 employees to provide employees with behavioral health management
services, training on workplace issues, and interventions in response to critical incidents.
I have advanced training in crisis intervention, workplace violence prevention, employee assistance services, and adolescent counseling. I have served on the board of directors of a therapeutic group home, a crisis center, and a
national organization of employee assistance professionals and also am active in professional organizations.
With my wife, Marta, I have two grown children.
